Job description

BGIS is looking for a Senior Operations Manager to join the team inTampa, FL.

BGIS is a leading provider of integrated real estate management services, including facilities management, project management, energy & sustainability services, strategic workplace consulting, real estate services and capital planning. Purpose Statement: Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management

  • Establish, communicate, and meet performance standards.
  • Interview, orient, and train new facility team members.
  • Review and document individual performance.
  • Deliver regular individual performance feedback.
  • Maintain ongoing facility training and certification programs.
  • Support individual professional development and career planning.
  • Provide the requirements for program managers per particular site and participate in selection and hiring of facility engineers.
  • Accept responsibility for program managers assigned, continuous quality improvement, and cost management.
  • Recognize the responsibility as an agent of BGIS and act accordingly at all times.

Project Development

  • Define and deploy quality assurance strategies.
  • Oversee daily activities and deliverables for the GCET program manager, and report status to the Operations Director.
  • Responsible for the successful and timely completion of assigned projects by utilizing appropriate resources effectively and balancing the customer requirements with the agreed upon strategies of the company.
  • Write operating procedures as required for new and existing accounts as qualified.
  • Transition new awarded accounts as assigned.
  • Consultative selling or up selling of current client programs.
  • Meet project deadlines and manage assigned program managers tactically.

Customer Service

  • Manage and implement the project schedule.
  • Establish and gain customer and internal team’s agreement on deliverables and delivery date.
  • Provide ongoing updates to internal team and customers regarding project status and progress.
  • Responsible for the definition of customer project requirements.

Communicate

  • Communicate with other BGIS Departments to ensure agreements are successfully managed, opportunities are maximized, and customers are satisfied.
  • Collaborate with other BGIS National Critical Environments Teams for cross utilization and use of best practices and idea sharing.
  • Prioritize, coordinate, and deliver special projects as assigned.

Quality Assurance

  • Regulate Critical Environment facility management services to prevent business impact and equipment downtime.
  • Establish objectives and processes required to maintain critical infrastructure at optimum performance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and ensure that the check and balance program meets and exceeds deliverables.
  • Ensure excellence in delivery against Quality Assurance department goals and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain policy for documentation of all Quality Assurance processes.
  • Manage and respond to Quality Assurance issues with related groups such as Operations, National Critical Environments Team, Center of Excellence, and Information Technology as approved.
  • Develop, implement and manage Quality Assurance metrics for performance improvement related to client and company contracts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of an Operations Manager.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Facilities Management, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Twelve (12) years of experience in data center and/or facility management experience required.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations and System configurations required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong team building and training skills required.
  • Provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office; reimbursed.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays, overtime as required, and be "on call" on a 24 x 7 basis for emergency situations.
