What is a contract mot?

Contract managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the creation, execution, and management of contracts between organizations and vendors, clients, or partners. They ensure that all parties comply with the terms, negotiate contract terms and conditions, and help mitigate risks related to contractual obligations. Contract managers also track deadlines, renewals, and performance to ensure the organization's interests are protected throughout the contract lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract mot, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Contract Manager, you need expertise in contract law, negotiation, risk management, and a relevant degree such as business or law. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills. These competencies ensure contracts are legally sound, risks are minimized, and stakeholder relationships are maintained for organizational success.

One of the Gulf Coast's most respected general contractors is adding a Senior Project Manager to lead roadway, utility, and transportation infrastructure projects across the Sarasota and Bradenton corridor, including Lakewood Ranch, one of the fastest growing communities in America. The region is outbuilding nearly every market in the country, and this contractor's backlog shows it. WHAT GETS YOU THE SEAT
  • 7 to 10+ years managing large infrastructure, roadway, utility or transportation projects
  • Working command of FDOT standards, specifications and permitting
  • Strong grounding in MOT, drainage, earthwork, paving and bridge coordination
  • Experience with GMP, design build or CMAR delivery methods
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related field
BONUS POINTS
  • FDOT Advanced MOT certification
  • PMP certification
  • Experience working directly with municipalities, counties and state transportation agencies
