Job description

Huntington Learning Center has been helping students achieve their academic goals for more than 45 years. We are looking for talented professionals who will help students in grades 6-12 achieve self-confidence, motivation, and academic success. Our programs support students with closing the COVID-19 gap, re-engaging in their education, reaching their goal test scores, and moving to the front of the class academically.
After a paid training period to learn our methods, you will spend your time teaching and making a difference in children’s lives. We provide the curriculum and develop individualized programs for each student. If you are interested in spending your time working directly with students, we'll give you the opportunity to do what you love to do - teach!

The Opportunity:
  • Work with students in a 1-to-1 setting, or across a small group of up to 4 students.
  • Focus on classroom skill development, homework help, subject tutoring, and ACT/SAT test prep.
  • There are no lesson plans to write or homework assignments to grade!
  • Flexible, part-time hours - weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.
  • Paid training and professional development opportunities.
Teaching Hours:
  • Summer Hours: Monday-Thursday 9am-7pm.
  • School Year Hours: Monday-Thursday 2-8:00pm; Saturdays 8am-2pm.
Requirements:
  • A 4-year degree from an accredited university/college is required.
  • Math: Must be able to teach at minimum Geometry/Algebra 2, with Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus highly desired.
  • Sciences: Must be able to teach at minimum honors/AP level Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or other sciences, with college-level highly desired.
