Job Description:
 

This position will be responsible for the administrative function of contracts with agencies of the United States Government, prime Government contractors, Foreign Governments, as well as domestic and international commercial customers of Rockwell Collins. This is an independent contributor position reporting to the Sr. Manager of Contracts.  As this position is geographically separated from your manager, strong technical and leadership skills are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities include negotiating and managing a variety of contract types, as well as initiating, tracking and monitoring contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and Ts and Cs Risks and Mitigations, and maintaining associated documentation. This role will the manage government, international, and commercial contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements. Manages contracts and business relationships with their assigned customers.  Takes personal initiative to proactively serve as team motivator and in leadership to instill and create strong morale and synergies with internal and external team.   Provides all customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships throughout the entire contract management process. 


What You Will Do:

  • Participates in proposal reviews and approvals. Briefs management on Terms and Conditions risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Review contractual terms and conditions for their acceptability, as well as, assessing risk and impact to the proposal utilizing the Company resources including legal, operations, and pricing, as necessary. Identifies significant risks and develops unique contract terms and conditions to mitigate the risks when necessary. Provides alternate terms and conditions to Customer.
  • Operates in accordance with company policies and practices, and in compliance with accepted business ethics.
  • Leads and conducts contract negotiation and management of contracts.
  • Coordinates inputs from the sales, finance and service teams as well as the legal department to structure contracts. Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policies, government specifications and other requirements as may be necessary.
  • Provides contract status and assistance to the program manager, functional areas, and management. Provides business advice to LCVSM/Program Management teams.
  • Takes proper action to close out the contract in accordance with applicable procedures at the conclusion of all activity.
  • Assures the timely communication of contract information to appropriate persons and maintains complete and accurate contract files.
  • Acts as principal interface with internal/external customers on contractual matters. Takes necessary action or coordinates action to resolve any contractual problems on a timely basis.
  • Work is performed generally without direction for all but the most complex matters. Exercises considerable latitude in and approaches to assignment.

 
Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
