MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Director of Contracts to join our team in Herndon, VA. This is a hybrid position, requiring 2-3 days a week onsite. 

As a senior leader within the organization, the Director of Contracts will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to support the organization's contract administration efforts and drive strategic growth across MANTECH's portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will lead a diverse team, navigate change in a rapidly evolving environment, and lead a team that manages complex, non-traditional (OTA and CSO) portfolios, as well as commercial partnership agreements. Key initiatives include implementing compliant proposal strategies, negotiating and managing commercial, non-traditional and other complex proposals and programs, completing required contractual tasks, and leading the transition of current contract structures into Firm Fixed Price programs. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Led and mentored a diverse contracting team, driving continuous process and compliance policy improvements in a rapidly evolving corporate environment.

  • Spearheaded complex FFP development and delivery services acquisition processes, including converting Cost-Plus and T&M work into FFP programs.

  • Negotiated commercial contracts, complex corporate partnership agreements, and Joint Ventures.

  • Authored and managed contractual documentation for diverse procurement methods, including OTAs and CSOs.

  • Managed complex proposal responses, conducted routine portfolio risk assessments, and maintained a secured, accessible library of agreements.

  • Configuration & Stakeholder Alignment: Maintained contract baselines, managed equitable adjustments, and collaborated with stakeholders to ensure all contract structures met compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field with +12 years of progressively responsible experience in Federal Government Contracting.

  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and navigating change within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

  • Strong understanding of Department of War, Intelligence Community (IC) and Civil clients, paired with a deep understanding of FAR and DFARS regulations.

  • Significant experience navigating complex federal procurement pathways, including extensive practical application of Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) and Commercial Solutions Openings (CSOs).

  • Proven experience negotiating and managing commercial contracts, contract terms, corporate partnership agreements, and Joint Ventures.

  • Experience working across a large team to drive a contract administration agenda and working with complex, intertwined corporate and government stakeholder data flows.

  • Experience inventorying complex contract data, and with contract documentation (compliance tracking, risk management, closeouts, change control, and centralized administration).

  • Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex contractual and regulatory documentation, particularly concerning alternative acquisition strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience serving as a government Contracting Officer (CO/KO) is a strong plus.

  • Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) certification.

  • Experience with automated contract management and risk assessment tracking compliance tools.

  • Self-starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, organize meetings/boards, and drive change throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.


The projected compensation range for this position is $144,900.00-$260,900.00.
