Job Title: Mainframe Assembler Developer – Credit Card Authorization
Location: Onsite – Omaha, NC
Long-Term Contract (W2/C2C)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Assembler Developer with strong experience in the Credit Card Authorization domain to join our client’s core processing team in Omaha, NC. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Assembler, COBOL, JCL, and CICS, with a focus on transaction-heavy, high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain mission-critical applications using Assembler (HLASM) on IBM mainframes.
  • Enhance and support Credit Card Authorization systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system design, analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Write and optimize complex COBOL programs and JCL scripts for batch processing.
  • Design and maintain CICS transactions and online programs for card authorization services.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve production incidents with minimal downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements related to card transactions.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in Mainframe development
  • Strong hands-on experience in Assembler (HLASM) programming
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS
  • Solid understanding of Credit Card Authorization, transaction routing, and host systems
  • Experience working in high-volume, real-time payment environments
  • Familiarity with debugging tools like Expeditor, File-Aid, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a production environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with IBM MQ, DB2, or VSAM
  • Exposure to PCI compliance and card network integrations (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)
  • Prior experience in financial services or payment processing platforms
