Job description

Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment – including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today’s civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces.  We are located in Clearwater, FL  and do not offer hybrid or remote work - all employees must be a U.S. Person.

 

This is a Contractor Position for 6 months

Position Overview:
As a Machinist, you will operate and maintain various types of machinery to produce precision parts and components based on detailed specifications. You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and efficiency within our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Set up and operate machining tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

·         Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining operations.

·         Measure and inspect machined parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.

·         Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot operational issues.

·         Familiar with ISO/AS9100 requirements and FAI documentation.

·         Collaborate with other team members to optimize machining processes.

·         Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining is preferred.

·         Minimum 10 years of experience setting up CNC machines (Haas, DMG, Mazak Mille and DMG lathe).

·         Knowledge of set up 4/5 axis, lathe with live tool/Y axis and operate CMM inspection machine a plus.

·         Hard tooling experience and working with tight tolerance of 0.0005"

·         Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.

·         Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

·         Must be able to work with ITAR products and data without restriction.
