Contract Logistics 1st Shift Operations Team Lead - Union City, Ga
It's more than a job
As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Contract Logistics Operations Team Lead manages receiving, storing, picking, packing, verification, shipping, and other designated tasks to ensure the distribution center functions efficiently. The Team Lead directs and trains employees to uphold safe, accurate, and effective procedures. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, providing guidance, conducting audits, resolving complex issues, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm.
How you create impact
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize manual or powered material handling equipment to efficiently unload incoming materials from trailers as required
  • Confirm and record materials into inventory by accurately scanning them into the designated computer system
  • Confirm that all necessary inbound and outbound paperwork is completed with drivers, verifying accurate product counts
  • Utilize material handling equipment to efficiently transport and store materials within the warehouse. Scan materials when relocating them from the original location to the new designated area
  • Verify orders against the documented list, identify any shortages, and follow up to locate missing items or resolve incomplete orders
  • Maintain the accuracy of inventory records and provide support for physical inventory counts as instructed
  • Oversee and organize the efficient unloading of incoming shipments
  • Demonstrates strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities
  • Offers clear direction and support to team members by addressing inquiries related to any work-related matters

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is required
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role

  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Capacity to effectively analyze and resolve challenges
  • Capability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks independently with minimal oversight
  • Capability to deliver training to less experienced material handlers and warehouse associates
  • Ability to perform tasks through computer operating systems
  • Proficient in operating power-driven machinery
  • Capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to wear the required safety shoes while on duty
