Job description

Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced, innovative, and customer-centric company? Come and join the growing Litigation & Regulatory Operations team at Amazon.
We are looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to work with attorneys and manage complex antitrust matters and government regulatory investigations, as well as other complex litigation matters such as IP infringement, commercial disputes, and employment disputes. A key component of this role is leveraging and advancing AI-driven solutions to improve legal operations. You will be expected to design and implement AI solutions using Amazon services, including Amazon Kiro and Amazon Quick, to automate workflows, enhance data analysis, and drive operational efficiency across the team.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct fact-finding, data analysis, and develop a thorough understanding of case issues and claims, utilizing AI tools to accelerate research and identify patterns across large datasets
- Identify relevant custodians and interview internal witnesses
- Draft legal hold notices and collect data from various tools and business partner teams
- Organize voluminous case materials using Amazon's internal database software programs and AI-assisted document management solutions
- Manage outside counsel on data requests and collaborate with eDiscovery vendors on document collections and productions, including AI-driven review platforms
- Schedule large numbers of depositions and support deposition preparation
- Update budgets and track legal spend
- Provide end-to-end legal support for litigation matters from inception to closure, including discovery, summary judgment work, and hearing preparation
- Represent Amazon in Small Claims court, virtually, and in-person, across the US and Canada. Some travel can be expected.
- Manage alternative legal service providers for processing high-volume pre-litigation legal disputes (subpoenas, demands, arbitrations, etc.)
- Design and implement AI solutions using Amazon services (Amazon Kiro and Amazon Quick) to automate workflows and enhance data analysis
- Identify opportunities to integrate AI tools into existing legal processes and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deploy scalable, effective solutions
- Drive best practices - including AI adoption and workflow optimization - and serve as practice group liaison within the Litigation & Regulatory team
A day in the life
Few days are the same in this role. You might start your morning using AI-powered tools like Amazon Quick to research and organize case materials for an active investigation, then shift to coordinating with eDiscovery vendors on document review and production. After lunch, you could be interviewing an internal witness, prototyping a new AI workflow in Amazon Kiro to streamline a workstream, or managing outside counsel requests. You'll regularly collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders - attorneys, finance team members, engineers, and business partners - to solve challenges, explore new AI capabilities, and streamline processes for efficiency.
About the team
The Litigation & Regulatory Operations team at Amazon is a dynamic and growing group that supports the company's legal needs across a wide range of complex matters. The team embraces innovation and actively integrates AI tools into legal workflows to enhance efficiency and quality. We work closely with attorneys and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality legal support in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. We value self-starters who bring curiosity, sound judgment, and a passion for operational excellence - including a willingness to learn and champion emerging AI technologies.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of as a paralegal, in legal program management, or in legal case management experience
- Knowledge of the ethical considerations surrounding AI in the legal context, such as confidentiality, accuracy, and bias prevention
- Can use AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
- Experience in antitrust, government regulatory, or litigation matters
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Can manage a high volume of requests and competing deadlines
- Experience in ownership of projects and communicating timelines and executing independently
- Experience communicating clearly and concisely with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience developing and delivering training programs
