Job description

Established multi-disciplined consulting firm is looking to add a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to their Appleton, Wisconsin team!


Responsibilities:

  • Primary engineering contact for architectural K-12 and public-sector projects
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs
  • Coordinate with utilities, permitting agencies, and code authorities to secure timely approvals
  • Participate in public and board meetings as needed for school and municipal projects
  • Mentor/train junior staff
  • Lead mechanical system design for a variety of building types (HVAC systems, ventilation and energy recovery systems, building automation and controls integration)
  • Design of domestic water, sanitary, and storm plumbing systems
  • Conduct load calculations, equipment sizing, pressure loss analysis, and energy modeling
  • Develop detailed construction drawings and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools
  • Stamp and certify mechanical construction documents in support of permit submittals and construction
  • Review designs, respond to RFIs, and support construction-phase services
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and support scope development for new projects/proposals
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical building systems design
  • PE License
  • Experience with K-12 and/or municipal building projects preferred
  • LEED AP, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or related credentials preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IECC, IBC, ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1, and plumbing codes)
  • Proficient with Revit, Bluebeam, and mechanical system modeling/selections tools
