We are seeking an Instrumentation Technician that will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating instrumentation and control systems used in food and beverage manufacturing processes. This role ensures all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including food safety requirements.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and GMP requirements.
  • Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair all types of multi-axis pick and place robotics (ABB, Innovance, and AUBO)
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing control systems consisting of PLC's and I/0 wiring, VFD's, computer controls, HMI interfaces to minimize downtime.
  • Make minor code changes to automated equipment to meet customer requirements and document changes.
  • Document and maintain revisions to existing automated systems and maintain appropriate PLC, and computer software/hardware information.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all instrumentation systems comply with food safety regulations (e.g., SQF, FDA, HACCP).
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades.
  • Assist with audits and inspections by providing documentation and technical support


EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in instrumentation or industrial maintenance, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience with PLCs (e.g., Siemens) and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
  • Familiarity with calibration tools and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Understanding of sanitary design and food-grade equipment requirements.
