Pediatric Audiologist Opportunity

At MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital & Health Network, caring for kids is more than what we do — it's our purpose. As the state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and the only pediatric hospital in Washington's South Sound, we provide a comprehensive network of care designed specifically for children and adolescents.

Our vision is to be the safest, highest-quality place for children to receive care, where every child has a medical home and every family feels supported.

Join the only full-service Pediatric Audiology program in the South Puget Sound and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. Our team of specialized pediatric audiologists uses leading-edge diagnostic technology and evidence-based practices to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a full spectrum of pediatric hearing disorders. This is an opportunity to work alongside dedicated pediatric specialists in a collaborative children's health environment committed to exceptional patient care.

Position Summary

The Audiologist provides specialized comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative services to a diverse linguistic, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic group of pediatric patients age birth to 21 years in medical center/clinical setting. This is a professional level position that requires clinical skills, data analysis, problem solving, and decision making. The Audiologist serves a large population of patients with multiple disabilities and maintains both internal and external contacts including patient care staff, physicians, and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and interprets diagnostic behavioral testing, auditory brainstem response evaluations, newborn hearing screenings, and hearing technology evaluations using evidence-based practice
  • Recommends appropriate hearing technology and follows appropriate monitoring schedule for follow-up care
  • Fits and manages hearing aids, bone conduction devices, cochlear implants, and assistive listening devices
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary clinics, physicians, and other professionals
  • Documents results accurately and makes recommendations based on findings
  • Counsels patients and caregivers to ensure understanding of hearing technology, availability of and access to support services, and other hearing healthcare needs
  • Participation in team meetings, quality improvement, and community outreach
  • Maintains required CEU's
  • Participates in quality improvement projects, program development initiatives, and/or clinical research
  • Mentors students

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology through an accredited program
  • Board certification in Audiology (ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency or American Board of Audiology (ABA) Certificate)
  • CPR certification
  • Current Washington State Audiology license
  • Minimum one (1) year related experience
