Job Summary:
Autonomously performs complex diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures for adult and pediatric patients, under the supervision of physicians for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Required Qualifications:
 

  • Knowledgeable in Abdomen (including transplanted organs), OB/GYN, Small Parts, Vascular (including grafts, incompetency exams, mappings), and Pediatric ultrasound.
  • Knowledge of Non-Imaging Vascular (NIV), Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) studies, Prostate Ultrasound, and/or CT/PET/MRI fusion is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills involving interactions with patients, physicians, and other medical professionals.
  • Ability to communicate preliminary findings to Radiologists and Residents.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Critical thinking and judgment skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and push equipment for long periods.
  • Ability to lift or assist others with lifting patients using mechanical devices.
  • Knowledge of isolation precaution techniques and use of personal protective equipment.


Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • 2 years of experience within an ultrasound setting.


Required Education:
 

  • Associate's degree in a related field and graduation from a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
  • Incumbents hired into the role prior to February 15, 2018, must meet the previous requirements of graduating from an accredited sonography program.


Preferred Education:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree.


Required Certifications & Licensure:
 

  • ARDMS registered (or registry eligible) in abdomen, obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), and vascular technology (RVT).
  • Registry-eligible candidates must become ARDMS registered in abdomen within 6 months of employment.
  • Registry-eligible candidates must become ARDMS registered in obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN) within 12 months of employment.
  • Registry-eligible candidates must become ARDMS registered in vascular technology (RVT) within 18 months of employment.
  • CPR/BLS Certified or obtained within 90 days of employment.
