Job description

Job Title: GIS Analyst / Senior GIS Programmer
Location: Towson, MD (Hybrid - 60% Onsite / 40% Remote)
Duration: 6-Month Contract (1,040 Hours) with possible extension
Client is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst / Senior GIS Programmer to support the Office of Information Technology's GIS Program. This role will focus on GIS application development, maintenance, system upgrades, and support of enterprise ArcGIS environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS technologies, GIS web application development, and .NET-based programming in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance GIS web applications and enterprise GIS solutions
  • Support ArcGIS Server application development and system upgrades
  • Configure and support CityWorks integrations and GIS web services
  • Maintain and enhance existing facilities and utility toolsets built using C#, Visual Studio, and ArcObjects SDK
  • Troubleshoot application and production issues and provide ongoing technical support
  • Work with SQL databases, stored procedures, triggers, and reporting tools
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to support GIS initiatives and operational improvements
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing applications using:
    • C#
    • .NET
    • JavaScript
    • HTML
    • Python
    • J2EE
  • Strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS technologies including:
    • ArcGIS Server
    • ArcGIS JavaScript API
    • ArcGIS Web AppBuilder
    • ArcSDE
    • ArcGIS Mobile
    • Collector
    • ArcObjects SDK
  • Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder and Python scripting
  • Strong SQL and relational database knowledge (Oracle and SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience creating reports using SSRS
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Experience in systems analysis, project management, GIS programming, or change management
  • Prior experience working in government or public sector environments is a plus
Work Schedule
  • Hybrid work model after onboarding and training
  • Up to 2 remote days per week
  • Fully remote or out-of-state candidates are not permitted
  • Local Maryland candidates are strongly preferred
