Job description

Job Title: GIS Analyst II

Location: Onsite – Washington, DC area

Opportunity Overview: CORTEK is seeking a GIS Analyst II in support of the Department of Homeland Security Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, Current Operations Division.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, analyze, and communicate operational spatial data using ArcGIS tools, including the ArcGIS Desktop Suite and ArcGIS Enterprise/Online environments
  • Design, build, and maintain GIS products such as web applications, dashboards, surveys, and interactive maps to support operational awareness and decision-making
  • Develop and manage ArcGIS Arcade expressions within GIS applications
  • Manage enterprise-level geospatial datasets, including data ingestion, validation, maintenance, and visualization of large, complex datasets
  • Conduct spatial and data analysis to support mission-critical operations, reporting, and strategic insights
  • Provide GIS technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams and leadership stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy, quality control, and timeliness of all geospatial products and deliverables
  • Evaluate and implement new GIS technologies and tools to improve efficiency and enhance data visualization capabilities
  • Support document development and staff functions as needed in support of Current Operations Division
  • Travel as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographical Information Systems, Anthropology, or a graduate GIS certificate (Associate's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience may substitute a Bachelor's degree)
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop Suite, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online
  • Demonstrated experience developing dashboards, web applications, and geospatial data visualizations
  • Solid understanding of GIS data management, spatial analysis, and mapping standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality assurance
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) Clearance and must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
