Scientist II (Cell Therapy / Genome Engineering)

Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is seeking a Scientist II (Cell Therapy / Genome Engineering).

Duration: Long-Term Contract (Possibility Of Further Extension)

Pay Rate: $60-$65/hr on W2

Job Summary

In this role, you will be supporting genome engineering and synthetic biology initiatives. This role contributes to cell therapy development and disease‑modeling programs. The successful candidate will support the needs of the Advanced Cell Engineering Hub, particularly in the engineering and profiling of cells for cell therapy development and disease modeling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer mammalian cells (cancer cell lines, iPSCs, primary cells) using lentiviral/piggyBac systems and CRISPR gene editing
  • Optimize transfection and gene‑editing workflows
  • Troubleshoot and refine cell engineering protocols
  • Characterize engineered cells using molecular and genomic assays
  • Maintain, monitor, and quality‑check cell lines in culture
Required Qualifications
  • BS/MS + 5 years industry experience or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, or related field
  • Strong hands‑on mammalian cell culture experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with primary T cells and iPSCs
  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as Benchling, SnapGene, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism
