Position Summary:
Magellan Aerospace, New York has an exciting new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer. The purpose of this position is to ensure that suppliers meet company quality requirements and aerospace regulatory standards. The successful incumbent will work closely with suppliers, procurement, and engineering teams to maintain product quality, resolve supplier issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. They will also ensure compliance with aerospace quality systems such as AS9100 and first article inspection requirements under AS9102.
The salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $85,000.00
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, qualify, and approve suppliers to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
  • Maintain Approved Supplier List
  • Conduct supplier audits and assessments of manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics including quality, delivery, and corrective action responsiveness.
  • Investigate supplier non-conformances and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and industry standards including AS9100.
  • Participate and identify supplier risk assessments during product development
  • Domestic traveling required

Position Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality.
  • Experience with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100 and First Article Inspection AS9102
  • Experience with Root cause analysis
  • Supplier auditing experience.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T, engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
