Job description

Job Title: Solution Lead / Architect (Python, React, FastAPI)
Location: WTC, NYC (100% Onsite)
Long Term Contract – W2 / C2C
 

Experience: 12+ years of solutioning, design & development if cloud-native web applications using React, Vite, FastAPI, and Python

  • Technical skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Python and the FastAPI web framework.
    • Proven experience designing cloud-native web applications (preferably on AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Expertise in data engineering tools such as Apache Airflow, Spark, SQL, and cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
    • Experience implementing systems compliant with SEC regulations or other financial services compliance frameworks.
    • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and version control (Git).
    • Strong knowledge of security best practices, especially in handling PII and financial data.
  • Solution Architecture:
    • Design end-to-end web application and data platform architectures tailored to meet business and regulatory requirements.
    • Make architectural decisions on API design, service orchestration, data flow, and performance optimization.
    • Ensure system designs are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Act as the primary technical liaison for business stakeholders and clients.
    • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
    • Lead and mentor a team of developers and data engineers.
    • Provide technical direction and decision-making
    • Ensure adherence to coding standards, code reviews, and DevOps practices.
  • Web Development & API Engineering:
    • Design and implement high-performance, secure APIs using Python and FastAPI.
    • Drive the implementation of microservices-based architectures.
    • Optimize backend systems for speed, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Data Engineering:
    • Architect and implement robust ETL pipelines, data lakes, and warehouse systems.
    • Ensure secure and efficient handling of sensitive financial data.
    • Integrate third-party data sources and real-time data feeds into the application stack.
  • Compliance & Security:
    • Design and implement solutions that comply with SEC regulations and data protection standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, FINRA, etc.).
    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain secure data governance protocols.
    • Participate in audits, reviews, and documentation processes to ensure traceability and regulatory alignment.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Familiarity with financial industry standards like FIX, XBRL, or EDGAR filings.
    • Knowledge of additional Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
    • Prior experience in regulated environments such as fintech, banking, or trading platforms.
