What role you will play in our team
We are seeking a highly experienced Sales Development Manager to lead sales development, drive customer qualifications, and support the commercialization of advanced battery anode materials (BAM) for lithium-ion batteries. This role is essential to accelerating sales growth in the fast-paced EV and energy storage markets.
The ideal candidate will bring first-hand experience working within automotive OEMs and/or battery cell manufacturers, with a proven track record of negotiating with battery anode and/or cathode materials suppliers and a deep understanding of the battery materials value chain. They will excel in value-based selling, possess strong technical knowledge of anode materials, and have a strategic grasp of the evolving EV and battery customer landscape. You will be responsible for managing key accounts, identifying and developing new business opportunities, advancing product qualifications, and negotiating commercial agreements to closure.
As a key member of the Marketing & Sales team within our expanding Carbon Materials business, you will play a pivotal role in growing our Synthetic Graphite sales, ensuring long-term customer success and sustainable business growth.
What you will do
Sales & Commercial Skills:
  • Proven track record in B2B technical sales, preferably in advanced battery materials or energy storage.
  • Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery technology, especially anode materials.
  • Direct experience working at or with automotive OEMs and/or battery cell manufacturers.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating with battery anode and/or cathode materials suppliers and navigating complex supply chains.
  • Experience in value selling, customer qualification, onboarding, and commercialization of new products.
  • Ability to develop and execute global sales strategies and manage long sales cycles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain strategic customer relationships.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and supply agreements.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Thinking:
  • Deep understanding of the EV and battery materials ecosystem, including supplier dynamics and customer qualification processes.
  • Ability to monitor and translate market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities into strategic recommendations for business growth.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with R&D, marketing, supply chain, and other stakeholders.

About you
Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in battery materials and/or EV/ESS related industries.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, customer presentations, and trade shows.
  • Multilingual capabilities, international experience, and familiarity with CRM systems are a plus.
