Job description

Geotemps, Inc. is searching for Geotechnician to work at a mine site outside Fairbanks. The Geotechnician will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of functions associated with Mine Geology and Exploration. Duties will include collection, documentation, and maintaining chain-of-custody documentation for geologic samples, as well as collection of geotechnical and hydrologic data. Geotech conducts core shack and field logistics, material handling, housekeeping, and maintenance activities. Geotech must work safely and actively participate in all H&S programs. Geotech work under the supervision of Staff and other Contract Geologists.
Please note: Interested parties should be aware that this is not a camp position and employees will be responsible for housing, meals, and transportation to and from site.
Duties will include:
โ€ข Collection of samples from reverse circulation (RC) drill rigs
โ€ข Transportation of RC and drill core to processing facility
โ€ข Operation of field equipment
โ€ข Core processing /core cutting
Physical & Other Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age, with a valid driver's license, U.S. citizenship, or work status
  • Be capable of passing a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds from ground-level to waist-height
  • Walk on uneven terrain
  • Be willing to work in adverse weather conditions and able to maneuver frequently on uneven terrain
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be able to communicate effectively both in-person and on via radio
