Estimator III – Coatings

Direct Hire Opportunity with Superior Skilled Trades

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Estimator III – Coatings to join a growing construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for industrial, heavy civil, and commercial coating projects while collaborating with operations, engineering, subcontractors, and business development teams throughout the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete project estimates.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam.
  • Identify project risks, conflicts, and clarifications through RFIs.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, bid packages, and proposals.
  • Coordinate successful project handoffs to operations after award.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance estimating processes and efficiency.
  • Mentor and assist junior estimating team members as needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, heavy civil, industrial, or related projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, logistics, risk evaluation, and project costing.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
