Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level structural engineer (EIT) in our Corvallis, Oregon office. This position provides hands-on experience in the design and detailing of a wide variety of structural projects. The EIT will work under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers and collaborate closely with project managers, drafters, and clients throughout all phases of projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build a strong foundation in structural engineering within a collaborative, small-firm environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of design calculations, contract drawings, and project specifications.
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Construction support services.
  • Scope will vary, but may include design of cold-formed steel, wood, concrete, steel, masonry, and seismic design.
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers to meet project schedules and budgets.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or Masterโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural analysis/design (or graduating soon).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6-months.
  • Firm understanding of fundamentals of structural mechanics.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or prior experience in civil engineering or consulting.
  • Familiarity with building code regulations.
  • Interest in pursuing Masterโ€™s degree for candidates with a Bachelorโ€™s degree.
  • Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to perform field work including site visits.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license.
