Job Description:
The Opportunity:
The Contracts Specialist will be part of the TJX Legal Department's commercial contract team, and will be responsible for contract drafting, review, revision, negotiation, and interpretation in support of a variety of TJX business functions. This role will have direct contact with internal business stakeholders and must also be able to effectively interact and negotiate with contract parties and their counsel. The successful candidate will have experience with contract negotiation and will be able to work independently or with attorneys in the Legal Department, as appropriate. This is a hybrid position working in our Framingham, MA offices.
What You Will Do:
  • Review, revise, draft and negotiate commercial agreements (including statements of work, order forms, amendments, and non-disclosure agreements) in support of IT, marketing, logistics, store operations, distribution centers, and other business functions
  • Coordinate with internal business clients and procurement team on contract negotiations, including planning and development of negotiation strategy and applying precedent
  • Assist with updates to standard contract templates and related contract materials
  • Handle a high volume of projects and prioritize effectively, with the support of supervising attorney.
  • Assist with special projects, as needed

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience required
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and review
  • Experience negotiating directly with third parties
  • Excellent written communication skills, including clear and concise drafting and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal business stakeholders and third parties
  • Strong judgment as to appropriate escalation of issues
  • Highly organized and capable of efficiently handling multiple projects at the same time
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Suite
