Position Overview

The Corporate Attorney will support the Legal Department in providing practical, business-focused legal guidance across the organization. This role assists with contract drafting and review, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and cross-functional legal support. The Attorney will work closely with internal stakeholdersโ€”including procurement, engineering, operations, HR, and executive leadershipโ€”to ensure the company's activities align with legal requirements and industry best practices. This position is ideal for a recent law school graduate or early-career attorney eager to develop expertise in corporate, commercial, and energy-sector legal matters.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Contract Review & Drafting โ€” Assist in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor contracts, service agreements, and customer contracts.
  • Corporate Governance โ€” Support maintenance of corporate records, board materials, resolutions, and compliance filings.
  • Regulatory Compliance โ€” Conduct research and support compliance efforts related to energy storage, safety, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Risk Management โ€” Identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Legal Support โ€” Provide guidance to teams such as HR, procurement, engineering, and operations on routine legal questions.
  • Policy Development โ€” Assist in drafting and updating internal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.
  • Legal Research โ€” Conduct research on statutes, regulations, case law, and industry trends relevant to the company's operations.
  • Outside Counsel Coordination โ€” Support management of external legal resources, including gathering information and coordinating responses.
  • Document Management โ€” Maintain organized, accurate, and accessible legal files and contract repositories.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. state (Massachusetts preferred or ability to obtain in a reasonable timeframe).
