Business Lawyer

Pay: Base Salary $176,000 โ€“ $226,000 per year (DOE), plus benefits and bonuses.
Job Type: Full-time Work Location: Huntington Beach, CA 92647 (primarily in-office with remote and in-person court appearances as needed)
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and highly motivated Business Lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This role involves handling a wide range ofย  business contract drafting, review, redlining, as well as litigation and advisory matters, including breach of contract,ย  fraud, business torts, trademark, copyright and trade secret infringement.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, a client-focused mindset, and the ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision while delivering outstanding outcomes.
Responsibilities

  • Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
  • Independently manage a full litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including taking ownership of strategy, deadlines, and client communication.
  • Appear remotely and in-person in California state and federal courts; prepare and argue briefs, pleadings, motions, and discovery matters.
  • Draft, review, redline business contracts
  • Prepare documentation, evidence, and trial materials; participate in trials, hearings, and depositions.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience in business litigation.
  • Business contract drafting experience.
  • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision (self-starter with strong focus and initiative).
  • Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial preparation (first or second chair trial experience strongly preferred).
Preferred:

  • Familiarity with intellectual property, employment defense, commercial landlord/tenant, or construction law.
  • Experience with entrepreneurship or small business.
  • Post-judgment collections process.
