North Campus Rehab & Nursing Center is looking for a Full Time Maintenance Director! Monday - Friday
ABOUT NORTH CAMPUS REHAB & NURSING CENTER - Located in Leesburg, FL, we are an assistant living facility that is dedicated to helping our residents maximize their potential and live their lives to the fullest. Position Summary:
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance of the skilled nursing facility's physical plant, building systems, and grounds. This role ensures the facility maintains a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), OSHA, and CMS regulations. The Maintenance Director supervises maintenance staff, coordinates preventive maintenance programs, manages facility repairs, and ensures all building systems operate efficiently and safe
Facility Operations & Maintenance:
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the facility's physical plant including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety systems, medical gas systems (if applicable), and structural components.
  • Implement and maintain a preventive maintenance program for all building systems and equipment.
  • Ensure resident rooms, common areas, kitchens, laundry areas, and administrative spaces are maintained in safe working order.
  • Coordinate and perform repairs to building infrastructure and equipment as needed.

Life Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure facility compliance with AHCA, CMS, NFPA Life Safety Code, OSHA, and local building codes.
  • Maintain all required documentation related to safety inspections, drills, and equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee testing and maintenance of:
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Sprinkler systems
  • Emergency generators
  • Emergency lighting
  • Fire doors and smoke barriers
  • Conduct and document monthly environmental and safety rounds.
  • Assist with state surveys and inspections.
Emergency Preparedness:
  • Manage the facility's emergency preparedness plan, including hurricane preparedness as required in Florida.
  • Ensure backup power systems and emergency equipment are operational.
  • Participate in emergency drills and ensure staff are trained on emergency procedures.
Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise maintenance and plant operations staff.
  • Schedule work assignments and monitor productivity.
  • Train staff on safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Vendor & Contract Management:
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, and projects.
  • Manage service contracts related to building systems, elevators, fire safety equipment, and utilities.
  • Obtain quotes and monitor contractor performance.
Budget & Inventory:
  • Assist administration in managing the maintenance department budget.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and parts.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing and proper storage of materials.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school or vocational training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related field preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance or plant operations experience.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in long-term care, nursing home, or healthcare facility maintenance strongly preferred.
Certifications (Preferred but not always required):
  • HVAC certification
  • EPA Refrigerant Certification
  • OSHA Safety Training
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) or equivalent (preferred)
