Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Engineer to support manufacturing and engineering initiatives within an industrial production environment. This role combines project management, technical analysis, and manufacturing support responsibilities, requiring collaboration across engineering, operations, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and contractors to drive projects from concept through execution while ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering projects by coordinating scope, schedule, priorities, risks, and project deliverables.
  • Review project priorities, emails, action items, and project status updates to maintain progress across multiple initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, maintenance, suppliers, and contractors to address active issues and support project execution.
  • Analyze metallurgical and mechanical data, including test results, engineering drawings, and equipment performance information.
  • Support design reviews, supplier coordination activities, and project scheduling efforts.
  • Provide manufacturing floor support, troubleshoot production-related issues, and assist with continuous improvement efforts.
  • Document technical decisions, maintain project trackers, and communicate project updates and next steps to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and cross-functional partners to achieve project goals and improve operational performance.
  • Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.

Years of Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • 5+ years of engineering, manufacturing, industrial, or project management experience preferred.
  • Candidates with an associate degree and 7+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Candidates with a master's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience within manufacturing, heavy industrial, industrial equipment, or production environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials behavior, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
