Job description

This position is contingent upon the identification of a candidate whose expertise meets our strategic needs, at which point a dedicated, funded opening will be established. We are proactively seeking a standout professional for whom we will finalize a formal role.

Amentum is seeking a skilled Mid-to-Senior Submarine Electronic Warfare Engineering Technician to join our crew inGroton, CT. If you've spent your career in the shack, you already know the gear-now come help us maintain it, test it, and train the next generation of operators without the deployment cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installing, monitoring, and servicing equipment and systems at Company and client sites.

  • Performing or coordinating test and evaluation, checkout, and certification AN/BLQ-10 tasks.

  • Performing validations/verifications of BLQ-10 operational electronic systems. Developing technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements.

  • Implementing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI).

  • Training others in the operation and performance of the system(s).

  • Interfacing onsite directly with the customer for equipment/system installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.

  • Ensuring compliance with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications and test procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret US Government Clearance:(Note: US Citizenship required to maintain a Secret clearance)

  • Mid-Level Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with three (3) years of practical experience

  • Senior-Level Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with six (6) years of practical experience

  • Problem Solving:A proven track record of troubleshooting and fixing operational hardware/software under pressure.

  • Travel:Ability to travel up to 10% to support the mission.

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct VA Class SSNexperience

  • Top-SecretUS Government clearance eligibility

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

Compensation Details:

$24.43 - $50.00
