Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for developing efficient manufacturing practices. Their duties include researching and testing new systems, equipment and tooling that optimizes the manufacturing process. Manufacturing Engineers are to ensure that the company SOPs are carried out correctly and implement any continuous improvement ideas and solutions approved by management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Involved in the design, testing and implementation of the processes that affect manufacturing
  • Project management i.e., establish goals, manage resources, provide status updates
  • Troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment and products
  • Responds to electrical and mechanical failures and breakdowns
  • Research and implement new opportunities to make manufacturing processes more efficient
  • Liaising across departments
  • Keeps all manufacturing SOP's current and correct
  • Training of current and new technicians in the manufacturing procedures and processes
  • Creation of manufacturing SOP's
  • Creation and upkeep of manufacturing fixtures, jigs and test equipment
  • Performs all other duties as required to meet the companyโ€™s goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Six sigma and/or Lean manufacturing principles
  • ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems
  • Intermediate Proficiency of MS Suite

This position is located on site in Madison, CT. It is a 6-month contract position with option to hire.
