Job description

Electronic Design Engineer

Our client in the Spokane, WA location is currently hiring for an Electronic Design Engineer. This position is an onsite opportunity within a collaborative manufacturing environment, supporting the development of innovative embedded and electronic products. The ideal candidate will have experience in embedded systems, electronic hardware design, firmware development, and product development from concept through production.

Pay - $37.50 - $50.00/hour (Depending on years of experience, embedded systems experience, PCB design experience, programming proficiency, and relevant industry experience)

Location - Spokane, WA (Onsite)

Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40 hours per week)

Contract Type - Contract-to-Hire (12 Months)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic circuits for embedded and computer-related products.

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for microprocessor-based systems.

• Collaborate with customers to define product requirements and technical specifications.

• Build, troubleshoot, and refine prototypes throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Support product testing, validation procedures, and development of test equipment.

• Assist with proof-of-concept models and product demonstration units.

• Develop manufacturing quality standards and product specifications.

• Utilize circuit simulation, schematic capture, and PCB design tools to create and evaluate designs.

• Lead or support engineering projects from concept through production release.

• Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to support successful product launches.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

• Apply Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies to support product development and optimization efforts.

Qualification Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in electronic engineering, embedded systems, or hardware design.

• Hands-on experience developing embedded systems and microprocessor-based products.

• Electronic hardware design experience including circuit design, troubleshooting, and analysis.

• Programming experience utilizing Embedded C and C++.

• Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and circuit layout tools.

• Experience utilizing circuit simulation software.

• Experience developing, testing, and validating electronic products.

• Experience supporting products from concept through production.

• Ability to work closely with customers, engineering teams, manufacturing teams, and quality personnel.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Disqualifiers

• No embedded systems experience.

• No electronic hardware design experience.

• No programming experience in Embedded C or C++.

• No PCB design experience.

• Limited experience troubleshooting electronic circuits or prototypes.

• No experience supporting products through development and production.

• Primarily software-only experience without hardware design exposure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
