Job Title: Senior Network Design Engineer
Active Secret clearance is required at the time of hire
Location: Scottsdale, AZ

Will be working out of Scottsdale, AZ or Huntsville, AL 
There is travel to North Dakota up to two weeks at a time but not monthly 

About the Opportunity:
We're seeking a Network Design Engineer to support advanced satellite ground systems and mission-critical network infrastructure programs. In this role, you'll be responsible for network requirements analysis, architecture, design, implementation, verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting while supporting highly complex communications environments and deployment operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned network engineer who enjoys working with enterprise-scale infrastructure, satellite communications systems, cybersecurity requirements, and advanced networking technologies in a highly collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Design, document, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure supporting satellite ground systems.
  • Perform network requirements analysis, architecture development, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, servers, storage systems, and network security technologies.
  • Analyze network topologies, traffic patterns, bandwidth utilization, and capacity requirements.
  • Support operation and maintenance of secure networks, including vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
  • Perform network diagnostics, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions during operational events.
  • Create and maintain network, system, operational, and technical documentation.
  • Install networking equipment in racks, data centers, and deployment environments.
  • Support deployment activities and travel to customer locations throughout the U.S. and internationally.

  • High speed network design and implementation
  • Juniper Networks Certified Administrator (JNCIA-Junos, JNCIPis preferred or Cisco CCNA certificationCCNP preferred
  • Proficiency with Juniper SRX-series of firewall devices
  • Maintenance of Network topology that utilize Linux IDM/Windows Servers for DNS and Account Management, Juniper Firewalls, Arista Switches and NAS/SAN storage
  • Familiarity with Multicast, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc)
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, hardening, and resolution of findings
  • Written skills to include development and maintenance of documentation for network, system, operations, etc.
  • Familiarity with public cloud computing networking and services, including AWS
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere and virtual machines
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system

What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, network design, systems engineering, telecommunications, or related technical environments with a Bachelor's degree; or 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience working with routing, switching, firewall technologies, and TCP/IP network architectures.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting secure enterprise environments utilizing Linux and/or Windows Server platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience performing network troubleshooting, diagnostics, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation, network diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
  • Highschool diploma +9 years experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.

What Sets You Apart:
  • 6+ years of experience integrating and configuring routers, switches, firewalls, gateways, and IP-based communication systems.
  • Experience with Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper networking technologies, and Junos operating systems.
  • Juniper certifications such as JNCIA-Junos or JNCIP.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA or CCNP.
  • Experience supporting enterprise environments utilizing:
    • Linux Identity Management (IDM)
    • Windows Server
    • DNS services
    • SAN/NAS storage solutions
    • Arista switching platforms
  • 1+ year of experience administering Windows or Linux server environments.
  • 1+ year of experience managing LAN environments supporting 30+ client systems.
  • Experience supporting mixed Windows and Linux infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and Multicast networking.
  • Experience performing vulnerability scanning, security hardening, and remediation activities.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud networking, cloud services, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with VMware vSphere and virtual machine administration.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification preferred.

Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and drug screen.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel required, including deployment support within the United States and potentially international locations. A valid U.S. Passport is required.
  • Overtime: May be required during deployment periods, network integration activities, and mission-critical events.
  • Lifting Requirements: Ability to install networking equipment and work in rack and data center environments.
