Chipton-Ross is seeking a Technician for a contract opportunity in Santa Rosa, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Previous experience working with and on production machines
  • Must have experience using hand tools such as hand drills, orbital sanders, grinders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office: Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions and apply changes to a process. Ability to adapt to change, detail oriented, patient.
  • Basic math and intermediate computer skills, knowledge of spreadsheet software, (Excel). Demonstrate basic keyboarding and computer skills for data entry, machine operation, and report generation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate Coating Machines: requires a basic understanding of coating technology or the ability to learn while on the job, mechanical skills, trouble-shooting skills and the ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Candidate must have the ability to be on their feet for approximately 80% of their shift
  • Candidate must have the ability to fluidly move from task to task from platform to platform
  • Process and inspect parts. Clean and load parts into coating chamber.
  • Coating machine maintenance: requires the ability to assemble and disassemble equipment, bead blasting, perform target changes through physical agility.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills are a plus and can potentially lead to additional responsibilities within the department with troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform and maintain workplace housekeeping duties.
  • Must be able to use grinder or small hand tools.
  • Able to perform in-process measurements on coated material
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Microsoft Office experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 38 pounds and occasionally lift and or push/pull up to 45 pounds. Requires the ability to wear a respirator.

REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Accredited High school diploma or equivalent; prior coating or related experience preferred; one year certificate from college or technical school desirable.

WORK HOURS
  • Full-Time
  • 6am-4:30pm (Days) M-Th,
  • 1pm-11:30pm (Swings) M-Th ,
  • 9pm-7:30am (Mids) M-Th,
  • 6am-6:30pm F-Su.

ADDITIONAL
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
