About The Position
  • Responsible for the management, development, and overall leadership of team focused on:
  • Generates reports and regular datasets or report information for end users, using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. May create specifications for reports based on business requests.
  • Designs, develops and programs methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured data from diverse sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement
  • Manages the daily data analytics for Ameren's overall analytics portfolio
  • Develops analytics solutions to business problems; partners with the business to understand and solve problems
  • Develops, maintains and communicates dashboards and modelling to support business decisions

Key responsibilities include:
  • Prioritizes analytics work with junior co-workers for ongoing projects
  • Manages resource allocation for the group
  • Coaches junior co-workers on the following:
  • o Using in-depth knowledge and familiarity with data analytics and modeling in order to mentor and coach co-workers on applying analytics techniques, preparing reports, and data modeling
  • o Data visualization tools and techniques and trains/coaches co-workers in order to build visualization skills, understanding of visualization tools, and help work through complex issues
  • o Data science principles and provides opportunities to collaborate with data science team on data collection and analysis of unstructured data sets, data science model development and machine learning
  • o Agile software development processes and the development lifecycle
  • o Business partnership techniques and understanding the organization's objectives, and the impact on own projects
  • Demonstrates depth of experience translating complex business requirements in data analytics solutions and mentors/coaches co-workers on how to best support business needs
  • Reaches across multiple functions to implement the new visualization tools and techniques into production and monitors their performance.
  • Builds and leads a team to execute on functional area objectives
  • Has performance and career development conversations
  • Builds and maintains team motivation and engagement

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in mathematics, statistics, computer science or business
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous people or project leadership experience

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking to address complex business problems
  • Understanding of agile and project methodologies and processes
  • Understanding of data science methodologies and processes

Additional Information
Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
*Must come in to HQ location three days a week.

Compensation Range:
$131,900.00 - $204,400.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
