Contract Customs Classification focuses on determining the correct tariff codes and ensuring compliance with customs regulations, often performed by specialists or consultants. Customs Brokers, on the other hand, are licensed professionals who handle the entire import/export process, including documentation and tariff classification. While both roles require knowledge of customs laws, brokers have formal licensing requirements and broader responsibilities in trade facilitation.

Full-time

Posted 18 days ago

Job description

VVater is America's Next Water Company, delivering the future of purification through its award-winning Farady Reactor (CES Best of Innovation 2025, World Future Award 2025), proprietary ALTEP (Advanced Low Tension Electroporation Process), Advanced Dissolved Air Flotation, and Micro & Nano Bubble technologies. Unlike outdated chemical, filter, and membrane systems, VVater's electric-field breakthroughs eliminate PFAS, microplastics, microorganisms, and other contaminants with record retention times, without toxic byproducts or costly consumables.
With over 4.3B gallons treated and validation from global leaders, VVater is scaling into municipal drinking water and wastewater, DPR/IPR, onsite reuse for data centers, commercial buildings, and resorts, residential purification, and consumer health water, delivering a 60% smaller footprint, 40% CapEx savings, 80% OpEx savings, and 40% less energy use.

Job Description:

VVater is seeking a hands-on Procurement & Logistics Manager to own sourcing, purchasing, vendor management, freight/logistics, and purchasing-system administration for our water-treatment products (no filters, membranes, or chemicals). You will manage the full buy-and-move lifecycle, from RFQ through PO, delivery, receiving, and payment, while maintaining disciplined processes in our ERP/financial/project systems (e.g., Xero, Procore). The ideal candidate is equally comfortable negotiating contracts, expediting critical parts, configuring purchasing/inventory modules, and coordinating crating, packing, and domestic/international shipments. Experience with capital equipment and large machine tools (e.g., Haas CNC) is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase mechanical and electrical commodities (sheet metal, machined parts, enclosures, wiring harnesses, motors/drives, transformers, PLCs/sensors, fasteners) and CAPEX/MRO (Haas CNC machines, fixturing, workholding, metrology, tooling, spares).
  • Run competitive RFQs/RFPs, analyze total cost (price, lead time, MOQ, terms), negotiate pricing and commercial terms (payment, Incoterms, warranties), and award business in accordance with policy.
  • Create/manage POs in the ERP; track confirmations, delivery schedules, and changes; expedite backorders; ensure accurate receiving, 3-way match, and timely AP handoff.
  • Build and maintain clean item masters, approved vendor lists (AVL), and pricing/contracts; drive engineering-change adoption with up-to-date part revisions and BOM impacts.
  • Lead logistics end-to-end: carrier selection (parcel/LTL/FTL/air/ocean), booking, customs brokerage, HS classification, import/export paperwork (commercial invoice, packing list, COO, AES as needed), and delivery to site, minimizing cost, risk, and transit time.
  • Own packing/crating standards (palletization, protective materials, labeling, kitting) to ensure products arrive damage-free and installation-ready.
  • Implement supplier performance management, scorecards for OTD, quality, responsiveness, and cost; run corrective actions (RMA/SCAR) with vendors and internal Quality.
  • Administer purchasing/inventory workflows across Xero, Procore, and related systems: approval matrices, catalog/price lists, inventory controls (reorder points, min/max), and audit-ready documentation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance on make/buy, value engineering, lead-time reduction, inventory targets, and S provide clear KPIs (OTD, PPV, lead-time, inventory turns, freight spend).
  • Coordinate site readiness for capital equipment (Haas delivery, rigging, utilities), manage vendor NDAs/MSAs, and support warranty/aftermarket parts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (UL/ETL-listed components where required, RoHS/REACH for electronics, import/export rules), and perform all other duties as instructed by the company.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in purchasing/procurement and logistics for manufactured/engineered products; water, industrial equipment, or electromechanical assemblies preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience procuring and supporting large machine tools, ideally Haas CNC or GE 3D Printing machines (specification, ordering, installation coordination, spares, and tooling ecosystem).
  • Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills with a track record of cost, lead-time, and risk reduction.
  • Proficiency with ERP/financial/project systems (ideally Xero and Procore) for purchasing, inventory, receiving, and reporting; advanced spreadsheet skills (lookups, pivots).
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and BOMs; familiarity with ASME Y14.5 basics, electrical one-lines, and part specifications.
  • Working knowledge of domestic/international logistics, Incoterms, customs brokerage, and shipping documentation; experience setting packing/crating standards.
  • Organized, detail-driven, and responsive; able to manage multiple critical paths in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
