JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for the operation of the presses. They must maintain production and quality standards. The operator will Prepare customer files for Digital presses and Litho Press. Generates proofs and PDF files for client approval. Additionally, this operator will effectively utilize all of the following software for file preparation, Photo Shop, Illustrator, Indesign and various RIP servers. This is a Computer-to-Plate (CTP) work environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble page layouts for press-sheet configurations per customer specifications using a Mac-based work flow configuration.
  • Create contract project proofs using wide-format proofing devices.
  • Proficiently configure press-sheet layouts using XMF RIP hardware.
  • Proficiently utilize a PDF workflow.
  • Manually output litho plates using CTP technology and verify desired outputs.
  • Work closely with Account Managers, Pressroom personnel and Bindery Team Leaders to ensure desired customer expectations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CTP Plate Processor and trouble-shoot potential problems. Perform routine housekeeping maintenance of work areas.
  • Manually distribute litho plates to the desired presses.
  • This position is detail-driven in a fast-paced environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work with other department personnel on a job-to-job basis.
  • Prior experience in Mac-based applications (Adobe InDesign, PDF, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Prior experience with Postscript RIP technology (Rampage, XMF). Prior experience in a CTP environment.
  • Excellent Math skills.
  • Attention to detail.
