Job Summary
Oxbow Meadows ELC provides nature and science educational programming for the greater Chattahoochee River Valley and the students, faculty and staff of CSU. This position is a full-time educator for both onsite and offsite programming.
Responsibilities
Significant Duties & Responsibilities include: Education - Deliver content for field trips from local school districts. Develop programming and deliver programming for after school educational contracts with local schools. Provide educational enrichment for math and science nights at local schools. Develop and deliver content for home school educational programs. Develop and deliver summer camp programs. Deliver remote programming for special events. Support programming for weekends, as needed. Develop concepts for new programming. Support teaching for other related science and environmental education programs. Support home-school educational programs.; General Operations Support - Support daily operations including registration for programs, monitoring of visitor numbers, financial transactions, greeting visitors. Support animal care, as needed. General administrative support.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications include: A bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: A science or education discipline preferred.
Proposed Salary
The proposed annualized salary range for this position is $36,000 - $39,000 and includes full benefits.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities include: Experience providing educational programming highly desirable.; Computer literate, word, excel, adobe programs, graphic design.; Knowledge of local ecology and environmental issues.; Demonstrated ability to lead educational activities in environmental science.; Demonstrated ability to work with principals, teachers and community groups.; Ability to work a schedule which includes nights and weekends.; Demonstrated ability to communicate accurately and professionally to audiences of all ages and to large and small group settings.; Demonstrated ability to work independently to manage and complete projects successfully.; Knowledge of tactics to engage diverse audiences with instruction.; Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Conditions of Employment

  • A credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage;
