Mastery of various crane types, rigging equipment, and safety management systems is often necessary. Reliability, strong communication, and situational awareness are essential soft skills for collaborating with site teams and maintaining safety. Contract Crane Operators often encounter challenges such as adapting to different job sites with varying terrain and weather conditions, as well as adjusting to diverse equipment and safety protocols. Job description

#JOBALERT | CONTRACT | CERTIFIED CRANE OPERATOR [TLL] | HOSPITAL EXPANSION | FORT WORTH, TX

A national general contractor is adding a certified crane operator to a hospital expansion project in Fort Worth, TX. The work is running a 65-ton Grove rough terrain crane on an active healthcare campus.

  • $42.00/hour
  • ~3 months | up to 6 days/week, 10-hour shifts (50-60 hours/week)
  • Requires NCCCO (CCO) certification with TLL endorsement
  • Start date: 08.31.2026
  • Local Dallas-Fort Worth operators preferred

Overview

  • Run a 65-ton Grove rough terrain crane and stay inside the load chart on every pick
  • Set up each pick — outrigger position and cribbing, counterweight, boom configuration, radius, and load chart check before the load leaves the ground
  • Work a tight, occupied campus: limited swing room, restricted lay-down, picks adjacent to live hospital operations and public traffic
  • Perform and document daily crane inspections, and shut the machine down when it needs it
  • Coordinate every lift with the site superintendent, riggers, and signalperson
  • Hold the schedule for the length of the run — up to six 10-hour days a week for roughly three months

Preferred Skills/Experiences

  • NCCCO (CCO) certification with TLL endorsement, current and unexpired — required
  • Rough terrain crane time at 60 tons and up, Grove or equivalent — required
  • OSHA 10 — preferred
  • Current DOT medical card — preferred
  • Tight-site and occupied-campus experience — healthcare, institutional, or downtown commercial — strongly preferred
  • Steady work history with crane and rigging houses or commercial GCs — strongly preferred
  • Based within daily driving distance of Fort Worth — preferred
