Job description

Position: OSP Cabling Technician
Location: 6818 76th Ave SW , Fairfax, IA 52228
7 Month Contract to Hire!
Rate:
$25/HR โ€“ Standard Rate for OSP cable techs (Overtime Rate: $37.50/HR)
Start Date Target: August 17th
On-site: Schedule is typically Mon-Thurs (6AM-4PM), and OT offered on Friday + Saturday
One & Done Interview Process!
BACKGROUND CHECK (Dates back 7 years) + DRUG TEST (Includes THC) is required to move forward.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience pulling cable or anything similar - 0-2 years of experience in any manual labor position (including but not limited to: construction, landscaping, painting, installation, maintenance, etc.)
  • Ability to work with infrastructure equipment for installing, racking and stacking, and data center set up
  • Ability to lift 35+ lbs
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, comfortable working in an outdoor environment
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to be a team player!

Job Description

MP NexLevel is supporting Meta data center operations and is hiring OSP Cable Technicians to assist with the installation and maintenance of outside plant infrastructure. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic who are comfortable in a hands-on, outdoor environment and want to grow within large-scale data center construction.

The responsibilities of this position include unloading trucks, climbing in and out of vaults, moving generators, and pulling cable from vault to vault if outside. Perform outside plant (OSP) cable installation by pulling fiber and copper cables between vaults and pathways across the data center campus. Enter and exit underground vaults and work in outdoor conditions to complete cable runs. Work in team-based crews to complete high-volume cable installations on tight timelines.

If inside, this candidate would be utilizing a medium sized ladder to leapfrog and pull cables through. The ideal candidate will come from a manual labor background, be comfortable working with their hands, and is a team player that is dedicated to getting the job done.
