Program Lead - Bird Johnson Propeller Company Aftermarket

Walpole, MA

As a Customer Order Controller for Bird-Johnson Propeller Company (BJPCo), you will provide operational support for mission critical shipments of aftermarket service parts to the US Navy, allied navies and the industrial base supporting them in the execution of their missions. You will work directly with our customers, advocate for their needs and communicate delivery status on a regular basis. You will perform transactional duties in Infor VISUAL, as well as gain a tactical understanding of the processes and tasks required of a COC.ย  In this role you will also provide support by compiling appropriate data, analyzing that data, and preparing charts and reports to inform strategy and track our performance meeting customer expectation. Above all, this role is expected to one of a โ€˜Swiss-Army Knifeโ€™, supporting and learning all aspects of BJPCo Aftermarket and Services, including Program Management processes and their application when applicable.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide complete customer service from the entry of external customer order to the delivery of parts and timely payment. This includes serving as the customersโ€™ advocate by understanding future forecasting requirements in order to establish a robust supply chain signal.
  • Act as the primary Rolls-Royce interface to the customer's purchasing group and coordinating with Program Quality functions in support of Customer needs
  • Manage the open order board, identify and escalate critical shortages to program and supply chain managers. Work with customers and understanding and communicating priorities for allocation of parts against orders when shortages occur
  • Review contract compliance and communicate/resolve discrepancies through contract managers.ย ย 
  • Consolidate and report key internal supply metrics, including order fill rate, material availability, expedites, arrears, and on time delivery (OTD)
  • Gather requirements and develop strategic proposals to grow service offerings or enhance the customers experience.
  • Gain a firm understanding of the Bird-Johnson Aftermarket & Services business while engaging with efforts against potential long term agreements moving into the future.
  • Shadow and gain firm knowledge on the Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) business as it pertains to BJPCo.
  • Must have assertiveness with respect to customer relations and communications.

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain or Operations with 3+ years' experience in a supply chain or operations environment OR;
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain or Operations OR;
  • In lieu of a degree, 7+ years' experience in a supply chain or operations environment
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity you must be U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience with Systems, Applications and Products (INFOR) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Previous experience in shop floor control, purchasing, supply chain design, and/or customer support
  • Ability to manage and summarize large amounts of data
  • Experience managing customers or stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Proven ability to work productively in cross-functional teams
