Job description

Technical Staffing Resources has a contract assignment for a HVAC Engineer to work with one of the largest EPC firms in the country.  This long-term contract position located in Newark, DE.
Job Description
The preferred candidate will be a licensed professional engineer with proven track record of managing multiple mechanical, HVAC and plumbing design efforts from conceptual design through construction support for Chemical, Biofuel and manufacturing clients. Experience must include both industrial building HVAC and Plumbing systems, laboratory areas as well as process applications such as dust collection systems and vapor management systems. In-depth knowledge of industry codes is mandatory.
The selected candidate must be a team player and function as a Work Group Lead developing scope of services, work hour estimates and schedules that role up into the overall Mechanical discipline. Ability to manage a project portfolio between five to ten small to medium size projects is anticipated.
Responsibilities
•    Provide oversight of HVAC CAD (2D and 3D) design team. 
•    Generating specifications for various HVAC and Plumbing equipment and provide reviews and approvals of vendor submittals.
•    Generating 2-D HVAC and Plumbing drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
•    Generating Construction packages including air flow diagrams, HVAC P&IDs, drawings, equipment schedules, details and Scopes of Work.
•    Track Project Scope and Schedule and notify project manager of deviation from original design, budget, or schedule.
•    Act as HVAC and Plumbing Work Group Lead for the Mechanical department.
•    Be a Champion of our Sustainability and ZERO HARM Culture.
Qualifications
•    Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
•    8+ years of experience in industrial and commercial design of HVAC and Plumbing systems.
•    Professional Engineering License (P.E.) (Preferred)
•    Working Experience with the following:

  • Cooling towers, Chillers, Fans, Boilers, Pumps, AHUs, Heat Pumps, Humidification Systems, Hot Water Heaters.
  • Designing Clean Room Environments (Preferred)
  • Designing Dust Collection Systems (Preferred)
  • Designing Local Exhaust Ventilations Systems (Preferred)
  • Design of plumbing systems including domestic hot/cold water lines and sanitary/waste lines (Preferred). 
  • Ventilation for potential hazard mitigation
  • Fluent with national codes and standards (ICC, ASHRAE, SMACNA and NFPA)
  • HVAC Design Programs Including CHVAC, Carrier’s HAP, AutoCAD, MicroStation.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with supervisory experience
