Job description

Position Summary

The Civil Engineer – Project Manager is responsible for managing and delivering civil engineering projects from planning and design through permitting, construction, and project closeout. This position oversees project schedules, budgets, technical design, regulatory coordination, and client communication while leading internal engineering staff and coordinating with outside consultants. The Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management

·         Manage multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously from concept through construction.

·         Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and work plans.

·         Monitor project progress and adjust resources to ensure timely delivery.

·         Manage project scope, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

·         Prepare and manage project contracts, proposals, and change orders.

·         Ensure projects remain within approved budgets and profitability targets.
Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university required.


Licensure

·         Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineering Intern required or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience with municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects.

·         Knowledge of local permitting processes and land development regulations.

·         Experience preparing engineering proposals and managing project budgets.
