This hands-on position combines mechanical and electrical expertise to build high-quality products, ensure reliable performance, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and incorporate motors, encoders, and switches into electrical products according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Install mechanical components such as belts, machined parts, fasteners, and apply appropriate greases to complete product assemblies.
  • Terminate wiring harnesses, check continuity, and verify correct electrical connections to ensure proper functionality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting activities.

  • Oversee the quality of outgoing products by reviewing test results, identifying issues, and ensuring products meet established criteria.
  • Evaluate data from testing results and develop preventative and corrective action plans to improve product consistency and performance.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical issues in assemblies and harnesses, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams, actively contributing in a hands-on capacity and supporting various tasks as needed.
  • Use hand tools such as calipers and wrenches to perform precise mechanical assembly and adjustments.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical assembly experience, including working with both mechanical and electronic components.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills for electromechanical systems, wiring, and assemblies.
  • Ability to perform wiring tasks such as terminating wiring harnesses and checking continuity.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience building and assembling products or prototypes in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong quality focus, including evaluating test data and creating plans for improvement.
  • Comfort using common hand tools such as calipers, wrenches, and other basic assembly tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with components such as motors, encoders, switches, belts, machined parts, fasteners, and wiring harnesses.
  • Testing experience, including running tests, reviewing results, and reporting findings.
