Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the Workplace team in the Toronto office. This role is ideal for a creative design leader and confident project lead who can guide workplace interiors from early visioning and concept development through documentation, coordination, and implementation.

The successful candidate will bring strong design judgement, technical understanding, and client-facing leadership, with the ability to inspire teams, translate client goals into thoughtful design solutions, and deliver high-quality work across complex project assignments. Role accountabilities: Lead the creative direction of workplace interior design projects, promoting design excellence through collaboration, mentorship, and a strong point of view Develop innovative, practical, and highly resolved design concepts that respond to client goals, project objectives, budget, schedule, wellness, functionality, and user experience Act as project design lead across multiple project types and phases, guiding the team from visioning and concept design through construction documentation and implementation Communicate design ideas clearly through storytelling, 3D visualization, hand sketching, precedent imagery, materiality, and client-facing presentation materials Lead the selection, specification, and coordination of finish materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and interior architectural elements Oversee the preparation of design and construction documents, ensuring technical quality, coordination, accuracy, and alignment with the approved design intent Lead client presentations, project meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions with confidence, clarity, and professionalism Resolve technical and design challenges by balancing creativity, constructability, code requirements, budget, and project delivery standards Coordinate effectively with architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, lighting, audio-visual, communications, and specialty consultants Organize, prioritize, and guide project workflows, including team responsibilities, deliverables, schedules, meetings, and design reviews Support contract administration activities, including bid review, construction coordination, site reviews, review of shop drawings and submittals, and responses to RFIs Mentor and support junior and intermediate designers by providing design guidance, technical direction, and constructive feedback Qualifications & Experience: Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture 7+ years of interior design experience, with demonstrated leadership in corporate workplace interiors and an interest in contributing across a range of sectors Strong creative vision, refined design judgment, and the ability to translate workplace strategy and client objectives into compelling interior environments Proven experience leading projects, coordinating consultant teams, managing deliverables, and supporting successful project outcomes Excellent written, verbal, graphic, and presentation communication skills, with confidence leading client-facing discussions Strong knowledge of the full design process, including programming, concept design, design development, detailing, material and FF&E specification, documentation, and construction administration Sound understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, workplace planning principles, and technical coordination requirements Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design tools, and 3D visualization software Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to make informed design and technical decisions Ability to collaborate with, lead, and mentor project team members in a fast-paced design environment ARIDO registered member, NCIDQ certification, or eligibility for professional registration is considered an asset Corporate interiors experience is essential; experience in other sectors is considered an asset Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work efficiently across multiple projects Passion for design, curiosity, and a commitment to delivering thoughtful, beautiful, and technically sound interior environments Why Arcadis. The salary range for this position is $72,000-$109,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
