Mechanical Assembler I
Location: Huntsville, AL (35806)
Job Type: 6-Month Contract
Shift: 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM)
Pay Rate: $28.60 / hr W2
 
About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler I to support cable manufacturing and electromechanical assembly. Working alongside design and manufacturing engineers, you will build, troubleshoot, and repair custom cable assemblies in a defense-focused manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cable Building & Assembly: Build, repair, and modify cable assemblies using wire strippers, crimpers, and soldering irons.
  • Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform basic diagnostics to resolve signal and connectivity issues in cable assemblies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers and technicians to identify potential assembly issues and streamline production processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 1 to 3+ years of cable building and/or electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Required Certifications: Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Clearance/Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance or the eligibility to obtain one.
  • Tool Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of specialized cable assembly tools (crimpers, strippers, soldering irons).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with Space Addendum.
  • Active J-STD-001 certification with Space Addendum.
