Job description


The Rework Employee is responsible for the rework and repair of improperly assembled water heaters. Ensures rework meets quality standards. Maintains proper record keeping and housekeeping. Ensures proper labeling, paperwork, and other materials are completed and included with each product.
This position will serve our Water Heating Division, located in Montgomery, AL
Responsibilities
  • Make required repairs to damaged or improperly assembled water heaters.
  • Replaces critical components for proper functioning of units.
  • Responsible for ensuring heaters are properly reworked to meet quality standards.
  • Must do required paperwork on each reworked unit.
  • Must inform supervision, production control, Quality, etc of any missing and/or damaged literature, labels, energy guides and replace on unit.
  • Must accurately prepare scrap reports.
  • Must be able to read and utilize section schedules, pick lists, Oracle, etc to correctly verify part accuracy and quantities at all times.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area.
  • Observe and follow all safety requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards according to specifications, and leadership direction.
  • Inspect in-process work, finished units, components, and audit processes for proper acceptable workmanship and defect free conditions.
  • Work from written or verbal orders.
  • Support, Practice, and Promote Rheem values both internally and externally for 100% Customer Satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must successfully complete and pass lift truck training classes or have lift truck license in good standing.
  • 1 year Heater Line assembly experience required.
  • Proficient use of arithmetic (test may be administered)
  • Maintain departmental reports complete, on-time, and consistently.
  • Possess basic Computer skills to understand, interpret, and communicate Microsoft office email, word, excel, oracle, etc.
  • The following skills will be tested: Lift truck, Arithmetic, Computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Capable of arranging things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).
  • Ability to apply good judgement to carry out simple one or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hand to finger dexterity, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear and repetitive lifting as well as bending, twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, pulling.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move 5-25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high noise levels, heat, dust and airborne particles.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to heavy traffic of power trucks (forklifts). The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
