Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Regional Design Manager to join its design team. As a Regional Design Manager, you will be part of a global engineering leadership team, comprised of highly effective Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Security and Control Engineers. AWS self-performs engineering on the majority of our capacity delivery projects

This unique vantage point allows the Design Managers to maintain a close connection with project details and drive project outcomes. You will have impact on the design direction and ability to improve design delivery for an entire region, while establishing design procedures and protocols for the development of future systems. Key job responsibilities
Lead project teams of discipline leads to deliver quality and globally consistent data center designs across Americas within schedule and cost constraints while maintaining a high level of quality.
Able to influence internal stakeholders, internal customers (operations), and external consultants to address program wide design changes
Manage escalations from the design team and collaborate with procurement, construction and external consultants
Effectively communicate with AWS Leadership and external project partners, including the creation, tracking & reporting of metrics related to schedule, cost, and quality Throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce contract change orders without negative impacts on quality or reliability


Drive speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework loops, reducing and automating manual work and hand-offs, identifying and implementing best practices across the business, and minimizing process variability through standardization and automation.
Create global best practice documentation and facilitate sharing across the globe.
Ability to motivate others to achieve impeccable quality in an explosive growth and deadline-driven environment.


Travel for site assessments, internal design meetings, construction review, and interfacing with design consultants. Anticipated travel not to exceed 25%. International travel may be needed.
