Job Description
We're seeking a dynamic and results-driven **Senior Business Development Manager** to join our freight brokerage organization in a fully remote capacity, working from anywhere across the United States. In this role, you'll take ownership of strategic business growth initiatives, develop and nurture key shipper and carrier relationships, and drive revenue expansion through innovative sales strategies and collaborative partnerships. **Key Responsibilities:**
  • Identify, pursue, and close new shipper and carrier opportunities while developing a robust pipeline of qualified freight prospects
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key shippers, carriers, and logistics partners to drive mutual growth and load volume
  • Develop and execute customized freight brokerage strategies tailored to market opportunities, carrier capacity, and organizational goals
  • Analyze freight market trends, carrier capacity, competitive landscape, and shipper needs to inform strategic recommendations and pricing positioning
  • Manage and grow existing shipper accounts while identifying additional freight lanes, service expansions, and cross-sell opportunities to maximize revenue potential
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, rate proposals, and freight solutions to prospective shippers and carrier partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, dispatch, and compliance teams to ensure seamless load matching, service delivery, and customer satisfaction
  • Track, monitor, and report on key performance metrics, load volume activity, freight margins, and business development outcomes
  • Mentor and support junior team members on freight brokerage best practices, relationship management, and continuous improvement
  • Negotiate freight rates, service agreements, and carrier contracts while maintaining transparency and ensuring favorable terms for the organization
  • Stay informed of freight industry developments, regulatory changes, emerging opportunities, and competitive positioning to maintain strategic advantage

Qualifications
**Required Qualifications:**
  • 5+ years of professional experience in business development, sales, or account management within a B2B environment
  • Proven track record of successfully building and growing a book of business from prospecting through closure
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client and partner relationships across diverse industries
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions clearly and persuasively
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while driving measurable results
  • Strategic thinking capability with experience developing and executing business development plans
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
