Overview
THE ROLE

The Position: The Lean Supply Chain Engineer drives operational excellence across Great Dane's manufacturing network through the application of Lean principles, supply chain engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role leads initiatives focused on material flow, warehousing, inventory optimization, logistics, packaging, automation, and facility design to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance. The position partners cross-functionally to develop scalable solutions that support enterprise supply chain transformation and standardization.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Evaluate and optimize end-to-end supply chain, warehousing, and material flow processes across manufacturing operations
  • Develop and maintain enterprise standards for material flow, inventory management, packaging, and Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
  • Design and implement pull systems, replenishment strategies, and inventory optimization initiatives to improve productivity and working capital performance.
  • Lead Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs), Value Stream Mapping (VSM) events, and Lean transformation activities to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
  • Develop and implement warehouse, material handling, automation, and facility layout solutions, including support for brownfield and greenfield projects.
  • Analyze operational data and KPI trends to identify improvement opportunities and support data-driven decision making.
  • Conduct ROI analyses and develop business cases for capital investments and supply chain improvement initiatives.
  • Support the implementation and optimization of supply chain systems, technologies, and process standardization efforts.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders to successfully implement and sustain operational improvements.
  • Provide support to all Great Dane manufacturing facilities and other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
YOUR SKILLS & ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related technical field required. Master's degree, MBA, Lean Certification, or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Materials Management, or Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience implementing PFEP, pull systems, inventory optimization strategies, and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated success leading RIWs, VSM events, PDCA initiatives, and cross-functional process improvement projects.
  • Experience supporting facility expansions, material flow redesigns, or brownfield/greenfield operations preferred.
  • Skills: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Structured Problem Solving.
  • Supply Chain Analytics and Process Optimization.
  • Project and Change Management.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; ProPlanner experience preferred.
