The Opportunity
The HR Compliance Manager will serve as a true subject matter expert in employment compliance within a complex, nationally distributed organization.  The role will own and influence firmwide compliance initiatives, interpret changing employment regulations, assess risk, develop policy, and serve as a trusted advisor to HR leadership and Legal. This is a high-visibility role with regular interaction across HR, Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and the Office of General Counsel.

LocationThis position offers a hybrid work model operating out of primary corporate office locations including Chicago, IL; Washington, DC; Reston, VA; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA; Minneapolis, MN; Miami, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Short Hills, NJ; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix, AZ; Baltimore, MD; or Wilmington, DE. Candidates are expected to align with local market business hours. Minimal travel may be required based on business needs.
What You Will Do
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into practical HR policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend solutions and corrective actions.
  • Develop, update and govern HR compliance policies and documentation.
  • Lead internal HR compliance audits and risk-management initiatives.
  • Manage the firm’s compliance calendar and ensure key requirements are completed on time.
  • Oversee mandatory HR compliance training, including workplace conduct and harassment prevention.
  • Manage and support statutory reporting, including EEO, VETS, OFCCP and disability-related reporting.
  • Partner with HR Technology, Payroll and Benefits to ensure HR systems and processes align with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop compliance metrics and reporting for leadership.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to HR leadership, business partners and the Office of General Counsel.
  • Stay ahead of evolving employment regulations and help the organization proactively respond to changes.

Who You Are
  • 10+ years of meaningful HR compliance experience. 
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
  • Strong experience interpreting regulations and translating them into practical HR guidance.
  • Experience writing, updating and governing HR policies.
  • Experience with compliance audits, risk assessment and remediation.
  • Hands-on knowledge of employment-related statutory reporting.
  • Experience supporting a multi-state/national workforce.
  • The ability to stay current as employment laws and regulations evolve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex requirements clearly.
  • The confidence to partner with senior HR leaders and Legal.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR compliance professional who genuinely enjoys the work. You don’t simply administer compliance programs - you understand the underlying employment laws and can explain how they apply to real-world HR situations.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. 
  • Professional HR certifications (PHR or SPHR) preferred.
