Job description

Directive Consulting is the leading B2B marketing agency for brands that are serious about the metrics that matter most.

With over a decade of expertise and 420+ B2B brands under our belt, we've earned our reputation on real outcomes. We run through 3 divisions: Performance, Communications, and Commerce, all wired to share intelligence and answer to revenue. That system spans everything from Paid Media and Content Marketing, to PR and Paid Social, to Marketplace and Lifecycle Marketing. Tying it all together is our methodology, DiscoverabilityOS™, which aligns brand and demand to guide your ICP to choose you across every decision point.

We move fast. We think boldly. We hire people who challenge the status quo, build campaigns worth talking about, and make bold brands impossible to ignore. If you live for performance, love solving hard problems, and want your work to actually mean something, you'll fit right in.

This is a part-time internship requiring approximately 6–7 hours per week. There is potential for the internship to be extended beyond the initial 1 year. Compensation is $20 per hour.

About The Role

We’re hiring a Marketing Intern who lives and breathes marketing. You’ll join the internal marketing team at a high-performing agency where everything ladders up to bold, strategic outcomes. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience across the core pillars of demand generation. You will be instrumental in the full-funnel process, contributing to campaign execution from crafting targeted messaging for cold outbound sequences and email nurtures, to assisting with deployment. You will also learn the critical performance side of demand gen, focusing on how to report on campaign success, measure attribution, and connect marketing activity directly to pipeline and revenue.

We’re looking for a well-rounded intern who is eager to dabble in all aspects of demand generation and possesses a deep curiosity for connecting marketing efforts to measurable business outcomes. You should be a junior or senior currently studying marketing or a related field. You have a strong eye for detail, an analytical mindset, a keen interest in performance metrics, and a genuine passion for understanding how marketing drives business growth.

If you love experimenting with content, thrive on seeing what performs, and want to grow your career in a fast-paced agency setting, this role is built for you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Help draft and refine targeted messaging and compelling copy for use in outbound sequences and email nurture campaigns.

  • Contribute to targeted signal campaigns and leverage AI tools for tasks such as optimizing audience segmentation and improving outreach effectiveness.

  • Gain hands-on experience in measuring campaign attribution to accurately connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue.

  • Apply an experiment-driven mindset by assisting with A/B testing campaign elements (e.g., subject lines, calls-to-action) and iterating based on performance data.

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to align demand gen efforts with content strategy, major campaigns, and broader brand goals.

  • Occasionally support related marketing functions, such as content promotion or website updates, to expand your full-funnel marketing experience.

  • Actively engage with our community by responding to comments, participating in trending conversations, and showing up authentically across platforms.

  • Strengthen your marketing foundation by learning to navigate the tech stack for basic troubleshooting and reporting needs, gaining hands-on experience with the backend processes and reporting functions that power modern marketing teams.

  • See firsthand how demand generation strategies drive real business impact within a fast-moving B2B marketing agency.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related field

  • Strong analytical abilities and a data-first mindset, with a keen interest in performance metrics and campaign reporting.

  • Proven writing experience with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and concise copy optimized for direct response channels like cold outbound and email nurture sequences.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when managing list segmentation, tracking links, and ensuring data integrity for campaign execution.

  • A genuine passion for demand generation, understanding campaign attribution, and connecting marketing efforts directly to pipeline and revenue.

  • A curious, experiment-driven mindset with a willingness to A/B test messaging, learn quickly, and iterate based on measurable results.

  • Bonus points for any prior exposure to marketing technology (MarTech) systems

Work Environment Requirements

As a remote-first company, you’ll have the ability to work from your home office. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, Mexico, and the UK. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.

If you require reasonable accommodations in completing this application, interviewing, completing any pre-employment testing, or otherwise participating in the employee selection process, direct your inquiries to recruiting@directiveconsulting.com.
